Following your initial sign up request for conventional septics. A septic inspection will need to be completed before membership is activated. A full system evaluation and servicing of the septic tank will need to be performed.

Septic Shield will contact a local high rated septic contractor. The contractor will contact the homeowner to schedule an appointment date and time for servicing.

The contractor will be required to complete a septic inspection report form, that will be provided, and they will be required to provide photos of the system.

Inspection:

  1. The certified septic inspector shall complete the Shield inspection report form and submit the completed Inspection to Shield Septic Insurance Inc. If there is more than one (1) on-site wastewater treatment facility on the property, the qualified inspector shall complete an Inspection report form for each system on the property. Qualified inspectors are required to completely and accurately complete the form to the best of their knowledge and provide photos.
  2. Shield Septic will provide the completed inspection report form and any other documents relating to permitting, operation and maintenance of the on-site wastewater treatment facility to the homeowner.
  3. Any recommendation (depending on severity) provided to Septic Shield or homeowner will need to be completed before membership activation is completed.
  4. Assuming no repairs are necessary the homeowner will receive an email informing them that the $100.00 membership activation fee per system has been invoiced and is ready to be paid. The email will include instructions on how to remit payment.
  5. A recurring monthly payment will be drafted form the designated account on sign up.  Once a member (depending on program) Septic Shields will be responsible for any and all servicing and/or repairs of the septic system.
